Humble, TX

A Harris County City

Humble, Texas is situated right in Harris County and is part of the Houston metropolitan area. It shares a zip code with a neighboring city, Bordersville, but has its own identity. In the early 19th century, Humble was the site of commercial activity due to the region’s oil industry and ferry access across the San Jacinto River. By 1905, Humble oilfield was the largest producing oilfield in Texas. The oilfields remain active to this day and welcomed Humble Oil & Refining Company, which was a predecessor of Exxon.

Humble, TX remained a quiet city until the opening of the Houston Intercontinental Airport in 1969, and gained popularity with the production of the DeLorean, which was made famous in Back to The Future. The sports cars were manufactured right in Humble, TX
